RILM logoRépertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM), the non-profit organization that documents and disseminates music research worldwide, has kicked off its global search for a Deputy Executive Director. This is a newly created position offering significant opportunity for professional growth with the expectation that, as mutually understood benchmarks and measures are met, the Deputy will assume increasing responsibility, ultimately becoming qualified for promotion to Executive Director.

RILM is an innovative, entrepreneurial-spirited organization that is well-funded and poised to expand its  leadership in support of the world of comprehensive and inclusive music research.

Under the leadership of Barbara Dobbs Mackenzie, RILM has expanded its documentation of the world’s writings about music to encompass more and more publications from around the world,” says Philippe Vendrix of the RILM Board of Directors. “Further, RILM is now heavily engaged in providing much-needed article and encyclopedia full-text content from around the world and is well situated to continue its growth and expansion.

"I have loved being at the helm of RILM for all these years and watching the organization grow to meet the changing needs of the music research community,” says Barbara Dobbs Mackenzie, current Executive Director. “Working with new leadership will be a wonderful way to bring my tenure at RILM to a close. I expect my transition to take place over one or two years."

The search process is expected to unfold over the next few months, with the new Deputy Executive Director targeted to be in place by the end of the calendar year or early in 2022.
