Posted on behalf of Pia Shekhter. The Swedish IAML Branch celebrated its 60th anniversary in Stockholm 18-19 April, with guests from Scandinavia, Germany, Holland and Britain. Altogether 103 people took part in the conference.
"To the Swedish Minister of Culture:
The Swedish IAML Branch is celebrating its 60:th anniversary this year by arranging a conference 18-19 April in Stockholm. "Svenska musikbiblioteksföreningen" (SMBF) is one of the oldest national branches within IAML. The first Swedish IAML President, Folke Lindberg, was appointed already in 1959. Two more Swedes have more recently held the position, namely Anders Lönn and Veslemöy Heintz.
The following letter was sent (15 February) to the Swedish Minister of Culture, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth from our President, Roger Flury in support of the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden.
"Dear Minister,
On behalf of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML), I am writing to express, in the strongest possible terms, our opposition to the proposed changes to the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden.
