The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |

I was feeling a little sad by the thought of spending Midsummer all by myself in New York... Then I noticed the following tip from Janie G:-)
The Web Team is pleased to announce the release of the new IAML website! This page has a more intuitive organization and a more welcoming layout. The new website has been designed to function through both desktop and mobile (phone/tablet) browsers. We hope that it is easier for both IAML members and for people interested in IAML to find information on the organization.
(Text by Pauline Sjöberg, Gothenburg University Library)
Herbert Blomstedt, one of the world’s pre-eminent conductors, has donated his collection to Gothenburg University Library. The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday 21 May. Herbert Blomstedt talks about his lifelong commitment, collecting books, entitled Lying head to toe with Shakespeare.
The Herbert Blomstedt Collection is substantial, filling around 500 metres of shelf space. It consists of music literature, sheet music, manuscripts and facsimile editions of old manuscripts as well as works of fiction.
We would like to share the good news that the index of record catalogues published until 1959 and located in several Spanish institutions is already available on the website of AEDOM – the Spanish branch of IAML: Matriz. http://www.aedom.org/matriz
