The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |
This is my second time to attend IAML conference. The same is, I learned so many new knowledge, obtained lots of valuable information. The difference is, I listened more speeches about musicology research, and be inspired about the relationship between music library and music research.
It is with enormous sadness that I share the news of the passing of
Jane Ann Pearce Baldwin on Thursday June 25, 2015.
Jane preceded me as Western’s Music Reference Librarian, and was
poised to return as the Director of the Music Library when she was
diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour (19 years ago). Remarkably,
she survived to see her daughter's marriage, and the birth of her
granddaughter last year.
Jane excelled in so many areas of her professional life: flutist,
librarian, and scholar. As a mentor, she was responsible for
influencing a generation of librarians: at one notable Music Library
Association Meeting, four of us at the “First Time Attendees”
gathering realized that we were all there, because of Jane’s guidance
and influence.
A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate to be able to attend the joint international conference of IAML/IMS (International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres/International Musicological Society) which was held at the Juilliard School at the Lincoln Center, New York.
Kongres IAML/IMS 2015 w Nowym Jorku był wydarzeniem niezwykle ważnym dla środowiska bibliotekarzy muzycznych w Polsce. Po raz kolejny środowisko bibliotekarzy muzycznych z całego świata miało okazję do wymiany poglądów, wiedzy i pomysłów.
Fontes issues 61/4 and 62/1 are currently mailing. US members should have already received them. Worldwide members will receive their copies soon, but international mailing can take up to four weeks.

The issue marked as the latest available should have reached all members' mailboxes worldwide.
Nevertheless as international mailing duration is unpredictable claims for missing issues are not accepted before another six weeks have passed (from the date mentioned).
