The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |

The Liesbeth Hoedemaeker-Cohen Fund for IAML Congress Travel, established by the Cohen family in Liesbeth’s honor, is intended to help support travel to attend the annual congress of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres.
2018 has been declared the European Year of Cultural Heritage. While libraries are active in preserving our heritage every day of every year, this is a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the unique contribution our institutions are making. It is a chance to ensure that everyone, from political leaders to the general public, understands how libraries are protecting, preserving and celebrating heritage, from the oldest manuscripts to Twitter.

Wir freuen uns bekanntzugeben, dass das aktuelle Programm für den Leipziger IAML-Kongress 2018 (22.-27.7.2018) nun veröffentlicht ist.
I had the pleasure to visit three libraries with impressive music collections in Munich at the beginning of December 2017: the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, and the Münchner Stadtbibliothek. This was possible thanks to financial support from Bibliothek & Information International (BI-International), which is the standing committee of Bibliothek & Information Deutschland – the Federal Association of German Library and Information Associations – “for the promotion of international professional exchange“.
