*** Updates to the IAML website (including account creation, profile changes, posts, comments, and report submission) are currently on hold as we migrate to a new website. We will provide further updates after 17 January. *** The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |
For the first time we will be streaming from a IAML congress!
Dear all,
English
Ahead of our meeting at the conference in Rome I would like to invite expressions of interest from all IAML members in joining the Advocacy Committee:
IAML CONGRESS 2016
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Tuesday 5 July and Friday 8 July
Rome, Italy
Auditorium Parco della Musica
TUESDAY
The 2016 election has produced one of the closest we have ever had, and this reflects the high calibre of all the candidates. The Board is very pleased that so many excellent people are willing to serve the organization. It is now a pleasure for me to announce the result:
President Elect:
Stanisław Hrabia (Uniwersytet Jagielloński, Kraków, Poland)
Vice-Presidents:
Jane Gottlieb (Juilliard School, New York, NY, USA)
Treshani Perera, graduate student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, reflects on her experience at the annual conference of the Music Library Association (USA), held 2-5 March 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Editor's note: Archived video from MLA 2016 as well as presentation materials from past conferences are available on the MLA website.
