Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people.

IAML Kraków Congress Diary #6: RISM in Kraków

Wawel Castle, KrakówDass der IAML Kongress diesmal in Krakov statt fand, war für mich eine besondere Freude. Vor mehr als 40 Jahren war ich schon einmal hier, erinnerte mich aber nur noch an das historisches Stadtzentrum, das damals noch weit von einem Touristenmagnet entfernt war. Das Auditorium Maximum erwies sich als geeigneter Ort für einen Kongress und nicht zuletzt die engagierte Hilfe der KollegInnen vor Ort machten es den Vortragenden leicht. Die RISM Sitzungen waren so erfolgreich. In vielen anderen Sitzungen waren Quellen und deren Erschließung ein Thema, was sehr lehrreich war.
