RISM

An international conference was held 7-9 October 2022 acknowledging the 70^th anniversary of RISM (Répertoire International des Sources Musicales). It was a great honour for me to extend IAML’s warm congratulations in a short speech at the opening session. As the President of IAML, I am very proud of the fact that our Association was one of the two founders of the RISM project in 1952, together with the International Musicological Society (IMS).

A new tutorial for the Plaine & Easie Code is now available from the RISM Editorial Center in cooperation with the U.S. RISM Office at Harvard University. The Plaine & Easie Code is a library standard that is maintained by IAML and by RISM. It corresponds to MARC21 field 031.

The International Music Council (IMC) will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year and will mark the occasion during the 6th World Forum of Music, which will take place from 27 September to 1 October 2019 in Paris. At the center of the Forum is the IMC's 5 Music Rights statement that "advocates access to music for all."  The IMC will feature an exhibition called "70 Projects for 70 Years" that highlights efforts made by IMC members to implement the 5 Music Rights.

Patrizia Rebulla of RISM Belgium has assembled a map of musical institutions in Belgium. The map lists libraries, archives, churches, and private collections throughout the country. You can explore the map below and on the website of RISM Belgium.
