The access to music archives needs to be improved. It is important for scholars to know where the documents are kept after composers, musicians, choirs, opera companies, conservatories, music publishers etc.
The aim of the working group is to facilitate this by establishing databases in various countries. We also plan to create tools that enables simultaneous searches in different types of databases holding music materials.
For countries that do not have their own database, we hope to offer a possibility to register single music archives via a web form in several languages. It will also be possible to see the detailed content of the archives via linked electronical finding aids. We welcome institutions to take part in this project.
