We are pleased to announce that the call for papers and posters for the IAML Congress to be held at Thessaloniki Concert Hall (28 June – 3 July 2026) is now open.
Paper and poster proposals are invited on subjects related to music in libraries, archives, documentation centres and on music information provision in the wider community.
Possible areas of focus include (but are not limited to):
- artificial intelligence
- cataloguing and classification
- collection management
- communities and resources across the world
- copyright
- digital humanities
- digital resources
- equity, diversity and inclusion
- innovative music library resources and services
- music referencing,
bibliography, discography - music encoding
- music information retrieval
- musicological research
- professional development
- performance ephemera
- user and public engagement
Proposals that seek to encourage discussion and audience interaction are especially welcome.
We will also be celebrating IAML’s 75th anniversary during the congress.
Paper presentations usually occupy a 30-minute timeframe and should not exceed 20-25 minutes in duration to allow time for questions and discussion.

Please note that this is an in-person congress.
Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process by 16 February 2026.
The Congress is open to anyone with an interest in the field, regardless of IAML membership status.
Proposals may be submitted in any of IAML’s official languages: English, French, or German.
All speakers must be registered as a delegate to present at the Congress.
