Call for applications for the position of IAML Treasurer

IAML is seeking a new Treasurer. The successful applicant will take over this role after the Congress in 2022 but will have the opportunity to work alongside the current Treasurer before then.

The primary function of the Treasurer is to manage the financial affairs of the organization. Apart from that, the Treasurer’s tasks include collecting membership dues from the national branches and individual members, maintaining the membership database in association with the IAML Webmaster, and preparing the annual financial report for the Board and General Assembly as well as interim reports for the IAML Board.

Since IAML's incorporation in the US, the Treasurer must file IAML’s annual return to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) as well as a few other forms to US authorities. All this work can be done online.

The Treasurer will need to have experience in the preparation of accounts, e.g. the use of MS Excel. A working knowledge of all three official languages of the Association (English, French and German) would be helpful, but the Treasurer must be fluent in at least one of these.

Ideally, the Treasurer will have a job environment that will allow some of these duties to be performed in working hours, or at least on work premises, especially at the busier times of the year. Access to email and telephone are essential.

The Treasurer is a member of the IAML Board and is expected to participate in broader IAML discussions.

The Treasurer receives an honorarium of 2.000€ per annum.

The Treasurer shall be appointed for an initial term of four years, and may be reappointed for subsequent terms of two years.

Candidates should send a CV, covering letter and, if possible, some examples of - or references from - their previous relevant work (e.g. budget preparation), to the Secretary General by 31 May 2021.

Short-listed candidates will be notified about interview options.
