NEW FROM RUSSIA
New IFLA ALP Director Appointed
I would like to inform all of you that, thanks to Berengere Demerliac's tremendous work, IAML French national group is rapidly improving its web site http://www.aibm-france.org ,especially concerning the Périgueux international conference. We'll let you know about all enhancements promptly, but what you can already find there is :
1. A map of the location of Périgueux in France ;
2. All the possible means transportation to get there.
I'm sure that you will particularly appreciate the links with Michelin, which can give you any travel map within Europe, Air France and SNCF, for train travel. At the moment, the site is in French only, but we are working on a bilingual version. Of course, any comments will be appreciated.
Coming soon: all you want to know about accommodation and organizing your stay there.
LENORE CORAL DAY
October 20th has been declared Lenore Coral Day by the Faculty of Music at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Within the context of an MLA New York State/Ontario Chapter meeting, October 20-21 2000, friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate the opening of the new music building and to pay tribute to Lenore. In recognition of her extraordinary contribution towardsthe realization of this project, and of her dedicated services over past years, an Endowment Fund has been set up in her name--a singular honour and a well-deserved one. It was a happy occasion and all of us who were there felt the reflected glow of expressed appreciation.
WHAT IS RIPM?

FONTES REVIEWS EDITOR WANTS REVIEWS
Leslie Troutman, Fontes Reviews Editor, would like to hear from those IAML members interested in writing book reviews for the journal. She currently has a number of recent titles awaiting review. If you would like information about this, please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org. In your message include a sentence about your areas(s) of expertise and interest. She is particularly keen to hear from members outside North America and Great Britain (though members from those areas certainly will not be turned away!). On a related note: if you are aware of a recent publication in your country that should be known by the membership and therefore wold be a good candidate for a Fontes review, please contact Leslie.

REPORTS FROM EDINBURGH
IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT THE IFLA CONFERENCE
CONFERENCE DATES OF INTEREST
Our President, Pam Thompson, as suggested that it would be both useful and interesting to list in the Newsletter the dates of forthcoming conferences that might be of interest to IAML members. These would include associations with which we are affiliated, those concerned with music librarianship, meetings of national branches, plus any other relevant meeting dates that members would like to send in. So. IAML members, please send me the dates of any conferences you think might be of interest to your colleagues. Who knows, someone might be passing through your country at the crucial time, and be delighted to look in at your annual meeting!
FUTURE IAML CONFERENCES
Please send contributions and comments to the IAML Secretary General, firstname.lastname@example.org or to any Board member. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the Carleton University Librarian, for allowing me to put the newsletter on our Library server, and to my colleagues in the Carleton University Library Systems Department and to the IAML Webmaster, Massimo Gentili-Tedeschi, for their web assistance!
