Music brings people together, and IAML membership supports our aim to make music internationally accessible through acquisition and lending, preservation and digitization, cataloguing and bibliography, and documentation and research. Moreover, most music librarians and archivists serve as educators, opening up the vast world of information and repertoire during their daily interactions with students, faculty members, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work internationally on multiple fronts to promote and protect musical heritage among diverse cultures, because the importance of music in the lives of the world's peoples is something we truly cherish.

MLA Conference Diary 1

Mosul Central Library in danger

We recently read the following on IFLA-L:

Fontes Artis Musicae - publishing schedule

Issue 61/4 of our journal Fontes Artis Musicae has not been published yet. Several problems in the production process have caused this severe delay. As of today we expect the issue to be published in May/June 2015.

In order not to cause additional confusion the publishing order of issues will remain in the original order (meaning that issue 62/1 will not be published before 61/4 has been mailed).

Live streaming of the MLA Annual Meeting this week

The Music Library Association is pleased to announce that, for the first time, we will be video-recording and streaming a significant part of our Annual Meeting. We will be recording the largest room of the 84th Annual Meeting on February 26, 27, and 28 (Thursday through Saturday). The content will be streamed live and recorded for later availability.
