The Music Libraries Trust is currently offering funding for two new scoping study projects as follows:Music Library Web pages for Children: Scoping study
Funding is available from the Music Libraries Trust for a scoping study for the development of music library web pages for children. Application procedures and further details of this can be downloaded here. The closing date for receipt of applications is 30 May 2008.
Film score collections in the UK and Ireland: Scoping study
The Music Libraries Trust is offering funding for a scoping study concerning documentation of film and television Score collections held in the UK and Ireland. Application procedures and further details of this can be downloaded here.The closing date for receipt of applications is 15 June 2008.

Research Project: Music in the Artaria Ledgers, 1784-1827
In 2007 the Trust made an award of £920 to Dr. Rupert Ridgewell to fund a research trip to Vienna culminating in the paper Music in the Artaria Ledgers 1784-1827 presented at the Music and the Book Trade Conference held at the Foundling Museum on 1st-2nd December and the subsequent publication of the Proceedings.Concert Programmes Scoping Study & Project
Concert programmes are a primary source of information for historical and musicological research, but it is difficult to find out what programmes exist, where they are held and what their contents are.
The Concert Programmes Database is now online at www.concertprogrammes.org.uk
Building on the scoping study, a project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Board Resource Enhancement Scheme has built a database of collection level descriptions which will be contributed to the national collections portal, Cornucopia.
The Concert Programmes Database is now available at www.concertprogrammes.org.uk where users can locate collections of programmes held by libraries, archives, museums, concerts societies and venues in one search.

Music librarianship by distance learning
The MLT granted £1000 to Ian Ledsham for the revision of the University of Aberystwyth Open Learning Unit's music librarianship distance learning course. Ian Ledsham's The Comprehensive Guide to Music Librarianship, a distance-learning package, is an essential guide for reference or as a self-study training package for new music librarians.The Comprehensive Guide is now available from: Ann Keith (IAML (UK&Irl) Publications Officer), Christ's College, Cambridge CB2 3BU. Research & Bibliography
In the MLT has also awarded:- £250 to Richard Turbet (University of Aberdeen) towards costs of revision of his William Byrd: A Guide to Research;
- £400 to Wyn Thomas (University of Bangor) towards the publication costs of his bilingual bibliography Traditional Music in Wales.
