Liz Hart began work in the music library service of London Borough of Enfield Libraries in 1968 and, after 21 years as Music Librarian in Barnet from 1979–2000, has returned to Enfield as part-time Audio Visual Services Librarian. Having gained her music degree at the University of Wales in 1966, she qualified in librarianship in 1967 at the Polytechnic of North London. She joined IAML the same year she started work, and has served as Brio Advertising Manager 1968–9, Branch Secretary 1973–9 and Education Officer 1999–2004. From 1986–1995 she also co–-ordinated the Branch's Action Pack against cuts in public music library services. A regular participant at the international IAML conferences in the 1970s and early 80s, she was particularly involved in the work of the Public Libraries Branch and the Record Libraries Commission, and was secretary of the former for several years.
