Call for Papers for IAML Members
The following has been received from Anna E. Kijas, Senior Digital Scholarship Librarian, Boston College Libraries: It is my pleasure to announce the Morales Mass Book, an open-access companion site to the First Book of Masses by Cristóbal de Morales (ca. 1550-1553), a Spanish composer at the Papal chapel in Rome. This site explores the Missarum liber primus (Lyon: Moderne, 1546) focusing on the composer, the printer, and the processes that informed the composition of four of Morales’s polyphonic masses. In addition, video and audio recordings invite us into the world of Morales’s superb music.
Gabriele Gamba has decided to resign from the position as IAML's Webmaster after serving more than a decade in this role. In order to further the work necessary for maintaining the vibrancy of IAML’s web site, and at the same time not overburden Web Editor, Jennifer Ward, I am pleased to announce that the IAML Board has approved temporary appointments for Richard Ranft, British Library (Webmaster) and Michelle Hahn, William and Gayle Cook Music Library, Indiana University (Assistant Web Editor), with a view to seeking approval from the General Assembly at the Congress in Leipzig to make these appointments permanent.
It was with great pleasure that we recently learned of Jürgen Diet’s election as the member of the Präsidium of the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat). As the President of the German National Branch of IAML (AIBM) Jürgen will represent music libraries in this important body.
