Procedures

The Programme Committee sends out a call for papers and posters for the forthcoming conference in early September. Deadlines will be clearly indicated, and strictly adhered to. The call will be announced on the IAML Website, listservs such as IAML-L and MLA-L, and e-mails to the National Branches.

A separate table of deadlines for the conference programme will be emailed to IAML chairs.

The online submission process is as follows:

  1. All proposals (also those prepared in advance by the Local Organizing Committee) must be submitted via online submission forms.
  2. There are three online submission forms:
    a) one for IAML chairs (password protected)
    b) one for a general call for papers (not password protected)
    c) one for a general call for poster sessions (not password protected)
  3. Proposals of papers should include an abstract of around 400 words and a short CV.
  4. The one session that the chairs are responsible for creating will be automatically accepted.
  5. All other proposals will be assessed by the IAML Programme Committee.
  6. Once the Programme Committee has completed the selection process the first draft of the programme will be shared with all IAML chairs.
  7. There will be an opportunity for chairs to request that papers be moved from one session to another. It will not be possible for them to reject a paper or session that has been created by the Programme Committee.
  8. Applicants will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by the Secretary General.
  9. Chairs of branches, subject commissions and committees have the responsibility to maintain contact with speakers in their sessions; also to ensure that abstracts with translations are submitted and technical requirements are confirmed by the deadlines set.
  10. Sessions with no affiliation to branches, commission or committees shall be promoted by the Programme Committee which will appoint Chairs for these sessions.  Appointed Chairs are requested to contact speakers in these sessions; also to ensure that abstracts with translations are submitted and technical requirements are confirmed by the deadlines set.

11.The selection of the poster sessions will be the responsibility of the Programme Committee.
