IAML International Association of Music Libraries

The Cataloguing Commisssion of IAML exists to discuss current issues of interest and importance for cataloguers of music materials in any medium. Recent presentations have considered the impact of FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) and progress on the VIAF (Virtual International Authority File).

Completed projects include:

• Working group on Core Bibliographic Record for Music and Sound Recordings (work ended 1998).
• Plaine and easie code version maintained by the International Association of Music Libraries and the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales
