Music brings people together, and IAML membership supports our aim to make music internationally accessible through acquisition and lending, preservation and digitization, cataloguing and bibliography, and documentation and research. Moreover, most music librarians and archivists serve as educators, opening up the vast world of information and repertoire during their daily interactions with students, faculty members, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work internationally on multiple fronts to promote and protect musical heritage among diverse cultures, because the importance of music in the lives of the world's peoples is something we truly cherish.

IAML Members Meet the New Board

Twenty-eight members accepted the Board’s invitation to the online event IAML Members Meet the New Board on 6 December 2023. We had a very fruitful meeting, elegantly moderated by Houman Behzadi. Houman referred to the IAML Strategic Intentions, originally formulated by Past President Stanisław Hrabia in 2019, that still serve as a guide for the Board and the National Representatives, as well as a source of inspiration for IAML’s members.

The President attends the Journée professionnelle de l'AIBM

Workshop feedback session | © Pia ShekhterOn 17 November I had the pleasure to attend parts of the Journée professionnelle de l'AIBM while I was in Paris. The meeting took place in Cité de la musique Philharmonie de Paris and more than fifty people attended (not all of them IAML members, though). It was a great opportunity for me to get acquainted with several members of the French IAML branch.
