Der tschechische Komponist Petr Eben ist im Alter von 78 Jahren nach langer Krankheit verstorben. Dies teilte Ebens Sohn Marek der tschechischen Nachrichtenagentur CTK mit.

Eben wurde 1929 in Prag geboren. Er studierte Klavier und spaeter auch Violoncello und Orgel in eský Krumlov. Wegen seiner juedischen Herkunft wurde er 1945 in das Konzentrationslager Buchenwald verschleppt. Nach dem Krieg wurde er in die Prager Akademie für Musik aufgenommen, wo
er Klavier bei Frantisek Rauch und Komposition bei Pavel Bokovec studierte.

For the first time, IAML will host poster sessions at its upcoming annual conference, 20-25 July 2008, in Naples, Italy. The IAML Programme Committee is now calling for applications for such presentations.

The Programme Committee invites proposals of paper presentations for the Association's upcoming meeting in Naples, Italy 20 to 25 July 2008.
