Call for papers now CLOSED
The International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is pleased to announce the call for papers for the IAML Congress to be held at the National Library of Latvia, Riga, 18-22 June 2017. For more information please see the Congress website: https://iaml2017.lnb.lv/.
Paper proposals are invited on subjects related to music in libraries, archives and documentation centres, including (but not limited to) music bibliography, cataloguing and classification, music encoding, copyright, professional training, user and public engagement, musicological research, special collections, performance ephemera, and digital resources. Presentations of a more general nature are also welcome, as are papers that focus on popular or traditional music of all genres and periods and its impact on libraries. This year papers relating to music in Latvia and the Baltic region are especially encouraged.
Paper presentations usually occupy a 30-minute timeframe and should not exceed 20-25 minutes in length to allow time for questions and discussion. Proposals can be submitted in any of IAML's official languages: English, French, or German.
Deadline for submission of proposals: 7 November 2016.
Submissions will be evaluated by the members of the IAML Forum of Sections. If a proposal is accepted, the presenter(s) will be expected to participate in the congress.
Participants will be notified by 31 December 2016.
